Ultrasound Examinations:  Ultrasound is very challenging and technique driven.  Expertise at this modality takes considerable time and supervised training.  MVDIT is available in the Charlotte, NC area for in-hospital ultrasound consultations.  Dr. Tidwell is also available for remote consultations on sonographic studies performed anywhere in the world.

How Ultrasound Can Help Your Patients

Sonography is the best initial diagnostic modality for the evaluation of many disease processes.  Ultrasound is often the next best modality for assessment of radiographic changes and when radiographic studies are inconclusive.  Beyond the traditional uses of ultrasound for evaluation of the abdomen and heart, sonography can be valuable for lesions of the mediastinum and pleural space, pulmonary lesions, thyroid disease and abnormalities of the musculoskeletal system.

Ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration or biopsy can be of tremendous value in the diagnosis of many cases of abdominal, thoracic and musculoskeletal disease.  A definitive diagnosis can often be obtained through this minimally invasive procedure.

We here at Brawley Animal Hospital are so happy to have Dr. Scott Tidwell in our area! Not only does it increase revenue for our business by allowing us to do procedures we would otherwise have to refer out, it also helps us diagnose and treat our own patients using a higher level of medicine. It is much more convenient for our clients to get these procedures done at our hospital rather than having to be referred to a different hospital with different doctors. Dr. Scott Tidwell not only has helped us diagnose many diseases we wouldn’t have been able to without his service, he also is a great person to work with!! We highly recommend him!! -Dr. Angie Finkes & Dr. Summer Shivers — Brawley Animal Hospital-Mooresville, NC
